PVCC Thomas Jefferson Adult and Career Education Department to Hold GED® Open House

Charlottesville, Va. – January 29, 2020 The Piedmont Virginia Community College Thomas Jefferson Adult and Career Education (TJACE) department will host a General Educational Development (GED®) Open House on Saturday, February 8, from 10:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. The event will be held at the Adult Learning Center at IX, 935-A, Second Street SE, in Charlottesville.

Advisors will be onsite to answer questions and help each adult learner map out a plan to earn the GED. Participants can take a practice GED Ready® test and attend a writing workshop during the open house.

“On average, people with a high school diploma or GED earn $9,000 more per year and 60 percent of recent GED graduates are enrolled in college,” stated Carol Coffey, Director of TJACE@PVCC. Those who want to take the next step in their learning journey and earn their GED are encouraged to attend. TJACE offers flexible and supportive learning options including face-to-face classes, online learning and drop-in learning labs.
