One Mic Stand returns to PVCC on April 11

Piedmont Virginia Community College will host its “One Mic Stand” series for spoken word artists on Thursday, April 11, at 7 p.m., in the Maxwell Black Box Theatre, located in the V. Earl Dickinson Building on PVCC’s Main Campus in Charlottesville.

Hosted by writer, promoter and filmmaker Ty Cooper, One Mic Stand is an open platform to share spoken word works and enjoy the mix of talents and styles that others have to offer. Past performances have featured poetry, comedy, political satire, personal storytelling and more.

Those who wish to perform may sign up at the PVCC Box Office in the lobby of the V. Earl Dickinson Building starting at 6 p.m. on the night of the show.

One Mic Stand is free and open to the public. Due to limited general seating in the Maxwell Theatre, no late seating is allowed.

The V. Earl Dickinson Building is located at the south end of 501 College Drive. For more information, visit, call the PVCC Box Office at 434.961.5376, or email
